In this episode, we talked about how Facebook users are getting older and more baby boomers are taking using the site. According to Pew, social networking use among internet users ages 50-64 grew by 88%–from 25% to 47% between 2009 and 2010. Because of their buying power over generation x and y, we are trying to connect with business to help them better communicate with consumers over social media.
In the podcast we talked to James Booth, who is a social medial marketer for Samsung. He has also done marketing for Dodge, Toyota and Dell Computers. We referenced two articles, one from Pew and another from The Guardian. James shared with us how business can use the different demographics to increase sales.
